Kevin Huffman Blacked My Eye And He Kicked My Dog…And Scores Still Went Up! Plus Pensions & Edujobs

Riddle me this: In TN they’re apparently doing everything wrong according to the usual suspects- teacher evaluation, charters, accountability, oh my! – yet the teachers there are getting results. Hmmm….

New rules for public pension reporting – prepare for the scare.

New Schools for New Orleans needs a COO, What’s not to like? Great organization (we work with them here at BW), great role, great mission, and great city. New American Educator is out, some welcome attention on juvenile justice.

  1. In NY:
“Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries trounced Councilman Charles Barron in Tuesday’s Democratic primary for Congress — and promptly said that his main priorities would be helping homeowners at risk of foreclosure and, more controversially, using public money to support parochial and other private schools.”

  2. Regarding TN, the same happened in DCPS after Michelle Rhee/Johnson’s first year and she took credit.
But the level of increase was on par with previous years, and then by end of year 3, the gains had stopped and the achievement gap began to increase again. She scratched her head, said we’ll figure it out why, and then quit 4 months later.

Didn’t the Redskins look great at the end of pre-season during Steve Spurrier’s year?
