DC edupolicy types know Larry Snowhite, a longtime government relations hand for publishing and assessment companies. Good guy, but doesn’t fish with obsession. His son, however, more than makes up for that. Rob Snowhite is not only accomplished with the fly rod he’s figured out how to live the dream – he earns his living as a “fly fishing consultant.” DC and Northern Virginia actually has some fishable water close in to the city that holds bass, stripers, gar, seasonal sea-run shad, and increasingly (and unfortunately) snakeheads as well as the usual assortment of mid-Atlantic panfish. Some water is wadeable, some accessible in a kayak or other boat, and some a little sketchy except for the very sure-footed. But Rob is your ticket to discover all that by the hour or by the day and to hook into some hogs. When Rob was just thinking about launching his business after finishing school we featured him with a New York salmon in 2007. He’s back today showing off DC’s wares and, in the spirit of the 4th of July, with DC’s mall in the background.
lucky man. there are only a few people in the world that can have such a title… fly fishing consultant Love it.
